The Western Upstate Association of REALTORS® is a trade association which was chartered in 1946.  The Western Upstate Multiple Listing Service was formed in 1978. Both organizations are comprised of REALTORS® and other professionals in related industries united in purpose and dedicated to providing knowledgeable and ethical real estate services to consumers and fellow REALTORS®.


The Western Upstate Association of REALTORS®/Western Upstate Multiple Listing Service strives to provide its members with programs and services which enhance the members' ability to successfully conduct their business in a competent and ethical manner, to promote cooperation among its members, and to promote the public's right to use and transfer real property.  The Association also participates in lobbying efforts of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® on issues affecting property rights and the Real Estate industry in general.

Peggy Hill
President, CEO



Peggy Hill, President, CEO of the Western Upstate Association of REALTORS® and the Upstate Multiple Listings Service joined the association in 1978.








Responsibilities Include

  • The Chief Executive Officer of the organization. Collaborate with volunteers to determine the organization's vision.
  • Manage daily activities and operations of the Western Upstate Multiple Listings Service.
  • Develop and implement programs and events that are in line with the strategic vision of the organization.
  • Responsible to the Board of directors for administration and management of the Association and MLS
  • Develop staff positions based on envisioned real estate industry needs.
  • Act as a spokesperson with added focus on community and real estate industry issues.
  • Provide leadership in professional standards enforcement and certification efforts; provides service to other REALTOR® organizations via co-op enforcement agreements.
  • Position networking and social opportunities to enhance members' career success and future needs.
  • Work with education director to provide courses and programs to fulfill licensing requirements as well as improving professional skills.
  • Work with leadership to recruit, develop, and nurture volunteer leaders.
  • Maintain  an organizational culture that builds strong partnerships between staff and volunteers.
  • Forge effective relationships, along with volunteer leaders with local government leaders and legislators, service providers, vendors, industry leaders, media and community groups along with volunteers assistance to maintain a politically aware organizational culture.
  • With the Board of Directors, position the association as a recognized leader in governmental advocacy in the local community and in partnership with the South Carolina Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®

Josh Grant
MLS Coordinator / Technology Director

A graduate of Winthrop University, Josh holds a degree in Business Administration with a focus in computer information systems and has experience in Information Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, and the South Carolina State Park Service.

Responsibilities Include

  • Serve as primary contact for receiving MLS participation applications.
  • Administer and maintain electronic lockbox system.
  • Provide Technical support to MLS subscribers.
  • Instructor for Education Classes related to the MLS system.
  • Process all listing changes/member changes and additions in computer.
 

Sandy Ferrell
Administrative Assistant

Sandy comes to AAR with a background in Human Resources.

Responsibilities Include

  • Receptionist for Western Upstate Association of REALTORS® and Western Upstate MLS
  • Assist with new members joining Association and MLS.
  • Support assistant for MLS members.
  • Provides general secretarial support.
   

Amy Smith

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Amy worked part-time to acquire her reception and bookkeeping experience while also attending Clemson University. She graduated from Clemson in 2004 with a degree in Psychology.

Responsibilities Include

  • Accounting and billing of Association dues and MLS fees.
  • Serve as support for education courses.
  • Maintain the National Association of REALTORS® member database.
  • Market all membership services offered by the association.
  • Process new member applications and administer new member application process.
  • Maintain membership files.
  • Organize, promote, and keep records for all association member services programs and events.
