In conjunction with SCR's 2010 Capitol Conference, the SC State Housing Finance and Development Authority partnered with SCR and held a press conference promoting Homes for our Heroes.
The Palmetto Heroes Program is available to teachers, law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMS personnel who are currently certified in their profession, and reside and work in South Carolina or have a contract to begin working here within 60 days of closing on a home.
Eligible Palmetto Heroes home buyers can get a 5.125% interest rate through SC State Housing's First-time Home Buyer Program as well as the down payment assistance loan of up to $7,000 which could even be forgivable over time, depending on the borrower's income.

This is the mandatory core course, required by the SC Real Estate Commission for every licensee prior to renewal. The topics include common license law violations presented in an interactive format. Students will leave the class having reviewed license law and developing methods to appropriately deal with situations in a legal and ethical fashion. This course is also approved for four (4) hours of continuing education credit for Georgia licensees (course #57218).
Risk Management Trifecta
March 11th
1:30-5:30pm
Cost: $45.00
This course focuses on the three high-risk areas of federal law: fair housing, antitrust, and RESPA. Taught in a highly interactive format, the program will lead the attendee through a review of federal law while developing "street skills" and verbiage for dealing with common situations and frequently asked questions. This class is also approved for four(4) hours of education credit for Georgia licensees (course #52092). |

Technology, consumer needs, and new regulations create new challenges that REALTORS® face in their everyday business practice. Because change on the street precedes the changes to the Code of Ethics, there are times when the highly ethical REALTOR® must navigate without clear guidance. In 2010 REALTORS® will have to make decisions based on their personal EQ (ethical quotient). When faced with hard choices, to what (or whose) standard will you hold yourself accountable? Learn to apply the 2010 Code of Ethics and license law to determine your behavior in this four-hour elective course. This course is also approved for four (4) hours of continuing education credit for Georgia licensees (course #59662).

March 18th Membership Luncheon
Cost: Free with minimum $10 donation to RPAC
Join us for our Membership Luncheon on March 18th at noon at the Hilton Garden Inn & Conference Center.
Come early and get some great deals on items in a silent auction where all proceeds benefit RPAC. The Silent Auction will begin at 10:30am and will close at 11:45am.

This course starts with an overview of allowable agency relationships through a review of license law and ends with the ability to explain the company office policy on agency to potential customers and clients in a manner designed to gain informed consent. Covering single, dual, and designated agency relationships as well as customer and client service, the student will gain the confidence that the agency presentation was both thorough and practical. A special emphasis is put on the forms and timing used to document the agency relationship as required by state law.
